When Sicily woke up

Matteo hand makes all netting he is selling. He was happy to see people coming to town of Cefalu, and going fishing again after a couple of quiet months

People in Sicily were genuinely happy to see people arriving to the island in September 2020 after pandemic lock down. The island filled with art, beautiful architecture hand crafts, and artisanal talent seemed sleepy and quiet – yet people were creating.

It’s been quiet. It has given me time to produce and work my craft.

It was like the island had taken a nap, and slowly waking up.

Usually in September the streets are filled with mixture of locals and tourists enjoying Sicilian summer. 2020 summer season you found a lot of space on the empty streets.
